Dear Friends,

Greetings from Minneapolis!  Last year during this same week, I flew into Minneapolis enroute to Camp Cotton, but they lost my luggage.  I am very happy to report that I had a great trip on Southwest Airlines and arrived on time, intact, and with luggage!  Yeah!!  We got to see the new Ruby and 5D software preview last night and they are exciting!  Later today we will get to play with them and learn more about the features.  Connie will have a 5D demo to compare and highlight the differences when we get back.  We will let you know when in next week's update.

Below is a photo of the Happy Hollow Designs Scarecrow Fest Trunk Show.  Be sure to stop in and check it out.  Trust me, the picture does not do it justice!  There is just too much to fit in one small photo.

I rearranged the shop a little bit before I left, and we now have a purse section where all of the purse samples, patterns, handles, snaps, etc. are all displayed together.  I also added a lot of Thimbleberries books and patterns to our $5 basket.  Some of the books in there are marked at $20, but they are now $5 until they are gone.  I also added Thimbleberries patterns to all of the remaining Christmas Street quilt kits, which means that the patterns which were $9 are now included free with the purchase of a kit.  There are a few left that we would like to move to make room for new fabric coming soon!

  10am-2pm
Teacher:  Beth Vilsack
Cost: $20 + Materials

What is a Santa Pail? It is a pail wrapped with a fabric Santa that you will make in this class. He is so cute and has numerous uses. Fill the pail with holiday cookies for a unique gift, let him hold you Christmas cards, use him for a candy dish or think of you own ways to use this clever Santa.

Friday,  July 30
6 pm-Midnight
Cost:  $20
Teacher:  Donna Eicher

You know how this works! We meet the last Friday of the month and sew whatever we choose until midnight. Hopefully, we FINISH at least one project. We eat at 9pm. Join us!  Yes, Donna will be there if my plane arrives on time in Pittsburgh at 2 pm.  No promise of what the snack will be, but it will be good!
I'm too pooped to make this a long email this week, but I'm sure I'll make up for it next week!  I think the Orange Peel table runner and the Exploding Pineapple table runner is on the menu for next week.  We certainly are being fruity in August, aren't we?

See you soon!
Sincerely,

Donna
