Serging with Confidence: Coverstitch Technique
If you have a serger with coverstitch options, this class is for you! Learn to convert your machine from overlocking to coverstitching. With just a little practice using decorative thread, we will create an embellished fabric piece, which can be used in many ways: pillow covers, pillow bands, parts of clothing, or our choice…a travel pouch made any size you would prefer, to hold anything from jewelry to art or sewing supplies.
Class supplies:
2 complimentary fabrics (solids or blenders preferred) –For each, use fat quarters or ¾ yard of 42” fabric
Cotton batting (enough to sandwich between the size fabric you are bringing)
2 cones serger thread to match fabrics
2 or more complementary or contrasting decorative threads 12 or 30 weight
1 ½ yards of ¼ inch ribbon to match fabric or thread choices.
