Border Basics

Have you ever wondered if/when you should add a border to make a quilt larger?  If so, should you use one or two?  How wide should they be?  How do I calculate fabric yardage for the size I have chosen?  Can I embellish a border with piping or prairie points?  Why might I want to do that?  And what about various types of borders beside just plain strips of fabric?  How do we square up borders?

These are all very good questions that we intend to answer for you in this border basics class.  Every quilter should know about borders because we use them all the time, and hopefully this will give you some confidence to begin experimenting with borders that will give your quilts more interest and pizazz!

We will discuss and demonstrate basic borders and mitered borders in this session, and then move on to other types in future classes. Very informative session-join us!
